Bergamot oranges, the healthiest fruit nature can offer, available in a 5kg crate. Cultivated in groves located in Calabria only 5km away from the sea, this product couldn't be more genuine! Bergamot facts: Defined by an unmistakable aroma, bergamot orange is born from a particular type of tree that measures about 3 to 4 meters in height, with glossy leaves that don't fall even in Winter and white flowers. The new leaves appear at the end of the rainy season, at the beginning of March. Intense yellow in colour, the fruit has a smooth, thin peel and its shape is less rounded than grapefruit as it's squished at the poles.
WARNING: From the moment of purchase, the artisan will have to collect bergamots from the plantation and prepare the crate so it may take 5 to 10 working days for the delivery to your home.
What makes this product special? The reason is simple. Located in a mountainous area in the outskirts of Reggio Calabria, 5 kilometres from the sea and between 200 and 600 meters above sea level, farming company Francesco Gangemi is in close proximity to the first intensive bergamot plantation, established by Nicola Parisi in 1750. Descending from this ancient variety, our bergamot fruits possess unparalleled flavour and unique properties, making them stand out from their modern farming counterparts.
